His name may be rarely heard of now, but Alston Stephanus has just debuted as a designer in August of last year. In his fairly short career thus far, Alston has proven that he is not messing around as a jewelry designer. His jewelry has already been used in a variety of prestigious events such as the concerts of Siti Nurhaliza and Vina Panduwinat, the 2006 Fashion Tendance Show and the 2006 Jakarta Fashion Food Festival in collaboration with designer Taruna K. Kusmayadi, a charity fashion show with designer Ramadani A. Kadir, the Brazilian themed launch event of Swiss watch maker Ebel, and Miss Universe Indonesia 2006, where we designed the crown and accessories. Alston ventured to make a single show in the beginning of September, although still in certain stages, his previous success shows that his collections are stylish in design with a strong impression of glamor, uniqueness, and being bold. Different from other jewelry designers, Alston combines a selection of special materials such as Swarovski crystals, brass, French lace, feathers, buffalo horn, bulb (light bulb), and other unique materials. "Dare to be different and to dream is one of my mottos. I get inspiration from what I see in everyday life, the environment and my pets including reptiles and horses," said the designer.
